These days it is not uncommon for couples to drift apart.  With the stress of their jobs and running busy households, many couples forget to invest time in their relationships.  Many couples think that just as long as things run smoothly in the home and there is love between them that their relationship will not suffer.  But marriage is like a tree that needs to be nurtured. One way couples can nurture their relationship is to have shared experiences. It is always good to have a shared hobby with your partner so that you can bond and build memories together.  Here are some of the things that you and your partner can do together so that you can have fun times together.

  • Take dance classes- dancing is one of the most pleasurable activities couples can do.  Dancing releases endorphins that can instantly lift your spirits.  It is also a great form of exercise that can help you and your partner burn calories.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t learn to dance gracefully like professional dancers. The important thing is that you are having a shared experience.
  • Start a garden- gardening can be a very relaxing hobby for both of you. There is something about nurturing life that can also couples find satisfaction in the activity.  You don’t have to start a large garden.  If you have very limited space or time to engage in gardening, you can just start a pocket garden and plant herbs or little decorative plants.  The whole experience- from planning the garden to visiting a gardening store and planting plants- can be a very pleasurable experience for you and your partner.
  • Learn a new sport together- Learning a new sport can be a good activity for your physical and emotional well-being.  You can choose a sport that you can play together as team mates so that you can learn to work together. You can also choose to play against each other as long as you both know you can keep the game fun even if you are competing against each other.
  • Go camping- away from home and the stresses of daily home life, camping provides couples with the perfect opportunity to bond. Choose a romantic location and sleep under the stars or choose a camp site where you can engage in many fun and exciting adventures.
  • Take long walks together- while walking is not exactly a hobby, it is an activity that is not only cheap but can really bring couples closer together.  Schedule early morning walks during the weekends and then have breakfast at a local diner.
